EMDR Intensives

I currently offer 6 hour EMDR Intensives for new and existing clients, typically on Fridays or Saturdays from 9am to 3:30pm. They are scheduled by appointment only and all new clients must participate in a 50 minute initial consultation to determine appropriateness. Based on my initial evaluation, I will provide my recommendations. Please see below for more information. For pricing, please see the financials page

Typical EMDR Intensive Day

Additional History Gathering & Preparation

1-2 hours

During this time, I will continue to gather additional background and history and then we will move into what is called resourcing (skill building) and EMDR target identification (EMDR treatment plan).

Memory Reprocessing

2-4 hours

During this part of the intensive, the actual reprocessing of memories will take place. Short breaks are given as needed by the client. Clients will also be given a lunch break mid day.

Lunch Break

30 Minutes

During this time, clients are welcome to bring a lunch and eat with me or on their own, or I can provide multiple local options within a short driving distance.

Session Closure & Grounding

1-2 hours

During this portion of the intensive, we will discuss the nature of the work completed, ensure clients leave feeling grounded and safe, and clients will be given post-session instructions.

Follow Up Session

typically within one week

This session can be scheduled virtually or in-person. During this session we will check in on our target memories and assess if any new insights have been gained. This session is billed at my normal hourly rate and is not included in the intensive price.

Referrals for continued therapy

Clients who already see me are encouraged to continue regular sessions and clients with their own outside therapist are encouraged to schedule something within a week of our intensive. Clients needing referrals for ongoing therapy will be provided with referrals.

Why Choose An EMDR Intensive?

An EMDR intensive allows you to make faster, deeper progress by condensing weeks or months of therapy into a focused block of time. Instead of pausing and restarting between weekly sessions, you stay with the healing process, which can create powerful breakthroughs and lasting relief. Intensives are especially helpful if you feel stuck on long-standing issues, want to address a specific traumatic memory, or prefer a more efficient path to healing.
